She understands that it involves killing the animal but still wants to go. Funny how a trip to a feed store starts something like this. Yesterday was her sister's one year birthday and I asked her if she still wants to go hunting and she answered yes, she wants to go deer hunting. Again I think to myself about getting her a bb gun again(of course to be used only under adult supervision).
Her dad doesn't hunt and I haven't hunted in a while but I guess that's going to change maybe next year. So I explain that chickens are raised and processed and then she decides that she wants to go deer hunting. Taken aback I ask her what she said and she wants to go chicken hunting to make chicken nuggets. No problem we're sitting there eating and she says she wants to go chicken hunting. Funny kid! We decided to stop in at the McDonalds and she wants chicken nuggets and fries. it up, he tuck one uv de my goad - stick well in hand, I crept up to. So we finally end up leaving there with a hose head on the stick thing and is prancing around on it and even named Lily. We I cocked my gun, took aim, and fired.
Looking around I see a pink bb gun and not right then but I say to myself "I WILL get her a pink bb gun!" LOl. Then she wants one of those(which we were still only getting the stuffed dog at this point)but again still wants a girl hunter and yes, they did indeed have a girl hunter setup for deer hunting. Deer, turkey, duck and even bear hunting. Then she discovers the hunting sets which they had one for each different type of hunting. Sure enough she finds several with girl farmers. At first she wanted me to get her one of those and then decided she wanted one with a girl farmer. She was quite inquisitive about a bunch of stuff there and when she saw the farm animal sets her eyes lit up. She spotted a stuffed dog that I agreed to buy for her. Well, they did have toys out for sale for Christmas.
So after releasing the possum we headed over to TS and when we got in there it was like walking into a candy/toy store. I asked my granddaughter if she wanted to take a ride with me as I also needed to go and get some chicken feed at the Tractor Supply in Laplace. Wednesday night I trapped another possum and no pickup until Monday so I left it in the trap until Friday to go release. I would double the recipe to feed 4.This was a fun and funny day with my 5 year old Granddaughter I had Friday. Serves about 3 people if they aren't big eaters. Add squash and add sausage back in, sprinkle with dried crushed red peppers (to your own hot meter) and cook over medium heat until vegetables are softened. (leave the drippings in th pan) Place the potatoes in the pan, add a tiny bit of water, cover and cook covered until they are almost done. Brown sausage with a little oil in a non-stick skillet, then set aside. No recipe for this really, you just cooked it all up and season it, but I'll list it out just the same.Ĭut all into bite-sized chunks. I titled this thread the same, but the better thing about this is you can post pictures of your culinary creations - wild game dishes, or like my favorite summer squash/red tater/smoked sausage/parmesan concoction below: So, I'll sticky this post as a recipe thread, and if it gets a lot of response then we may indeed make a whole separate forum. I thought it was a good idea but we have so many forums right now it's getting hard to find things. Beagles103 suggested we have a forum for recipes.
